After decades of singing a song encouraging people who return home to show support with Yellow Ribbons, a group put together a welcome back for Tony Orlando using the same symbol.
Several Branson area Civic Leaders put together an effort to welcome home Orlando from his final concert with the displaying of Yellow Ribbons and messages around town. Branson Regional Arts Council Director Jim Barber, host of the Midday "Barber Shop" program on 981 Branson 4 U, helped put the word out to the community while keeping it off online social media to surprise Orlando. A group of citizens were at the Springfield-Branson National Airport to welcome Orlando back at his final show.
Orlando had announced his retirement from touring late last year with his final show of the tour having taken place Saturday night in Uncasvlile, Connecticut.
Orlando plans to work on other projects while based in his home in Branson.
