For some in the Lakes Region, today will be the hottest day of the year as temperatures are expected to approach 100.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Missouri Lakes Region including the Branson Area for this afternoon and early evening. Heat Index Readings are expected to be around 110 during the afternoon.
People are advised to drink plenty of fluids if outside and also reschedule outside activities like work to early morning or later in the evening.
After a hot weekend, a break in the heat is expected next week with rain in the forecast for Monday followed by cooler temperatures through mid-week,
