Branson Approves Marketing Funds for Christkindlmarkt Event

A revised proposal for funds to help with a new Christmas event in Branson has been approved. 

The Board of Aldermen at their Tuesday meeting passed the proposal from the Branson Christmas Coalition on behalf of group looking to begin a new event, called Christkindlmarkt, that will take place at the Shoppes at Branson Meadows.

Christmas Coalition Executive Director Elizabeth Hughes addressed the board and stated that the revised proposal is specifically for marketing with any other costs coming from other sources. In the initial presentation, Hughes said the festival would be modeled after traditional European Christmas markets.

The board approved the amended proposal which will give the group $30,000 from the Tourism Contingency Fund to help promote the event which is scheduled to commence later this year.
