Forsyth Begins Process of Repairing Damaged Fire Station

The Forsyth Board of Aldermen get a report on the damage that occurred when a vehicle ran into Fire Station #2 in July.

Fire Chief Nathan Bower told Aldermen that the Insurance Company estimates over $30,000 of damage to the building. Bower said that although the structural integrity of the building is sound, they will need to replace some beams that might require the fire equipment at the station to be relocated during the work. 

The Board did approve going out for bids on the project with a deadline for submissions of October 15 at 3:00 pm.  

Kristina Linhart of Kirbyville has been charged with a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage exceeding $1,000 in connection with the crash of a vehicle she was driving into Station #2 on July 29.

According to court documents, Linhart was allegedly driving a blue 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix when she left the roadway and entered the fire station driveway. Linhart admitted to causing the damage and wrote a letter of apology for the incident. 

Linhart's first appearance in Taney County Circuit Court is October 21.
