Dropping temperatures in the region this afternoon could change rainfall into a wintry mix and snow.
National Weather Service Forecasters says that a mixture of freezing rain and sleet is possible beginning mid-afternoon as a cold front pushes through dropping temperatures below freezing. Rain is possible in the region prior to that time before it ends in the region early this evening.
The northern tier of Arkansas Counties including Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton, and Searcy are under a Winter Weather Advisory for late this afternoon. Road conditions could be impacted throughout the region, especially during the afternoon commute.
Very cold temperatures are expected overnight tonight and Thursday with wind chills below zero possible.
