A Boil Order is in effect for water customers in Reeds Spring serviced by a pump that was struck by lightning.
Mayor Rob Chamberlin tells Ozarks First that calls came in over the weekend reporting low water pressure for customers serviced by the City’s Pump #3. The pump was pulled Monday morning and replaced with Chamberlin saying that a big hole whole was discovered in the side of the pump due to the lightning strike.
The pump provides water for the Reeds Spring School District with the pump failure causing classes to be cancelled on Monday.
Water has been restored but Pump #3 Customers are under a Boil Order until the water can be tested for bacteria. Water should be boiled for three minutes prior to consumption.
