A man from Arkansas has died from the injuries he suffered in a boating accident Saturday morning on Table Rock Lake.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol identifies the victim as 76-year-old Elmer Virick of Gravette. According to the patrol report, Vrick sustained serious injuries when a boat he was a passenger in ran aground near Point Nine early Saturday morning. Vrick was taken by Life Line to Mercy Hospital in Springfield where he died of his injuries later that afternoon. The driver of the boar, 76-year-old Ronald Rose, also of Gravette, was not injured according to the report.
The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District also assisted at the scene.
This is the eighth boating fatality worked by Troop D of the Missouri Highway Patrol in 2021.
