The Central Crossing Fire Protection District in Shell Knob was one of the agencies that took part in helping to locate a couple of missing hikers early Tuesday morning.
According to a post on the district’s Facebook page, around 1:00 am the department and other first responders went on a search and rescue mission in the Piney Wilderness. Two adults had got separated and lost in the region. It took emergency personnel most of the overnight to locate the individuals, which happened around 5:40 am.
That rescue ended a busy 24 hours for Central Crossing Fire, as they had worked a control burn, a medical emergency, and three accidents including one fatality crash during the day on Monday.
