Two Major Events for Labor Day Weekend in Lakes Region

Labor Day weekend 2026 is shaping up to be one of the biggest event weekends in the Lakes Region as two major attractions, the Wings of Pride Air Show and PBR Thunder Days, bring high-flying aviation and world-class bull riding to the Branson area.

The Wings of Pride Air Show will take place September 5-7 at Branson Airport in Hollister, featuring the legendary U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds as part of America's 250th anniversary celebration. Organizers say the event will showcase an all-star lineup that also includes the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team and the USAF C-17 Globemaster III East Coast Demo Team. Gates open daily at 9 a.m., with flight demonstrations beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing through the afternoon.

Just a few miles south in Ridgedale, Thunder Ridge Nature Arena will host the annual PBR Thunder Days from September 4-6. The three-day event features Professional Bull Riders Teams League competition, with the hometown Missouri Thunder facing rivals from across the league in head-to-head matchups.

Adding to the excitement, country music stars Chris Janson and Miranda Lambert are scheduled to headline post-event concerts. Janson will perform following the Friday night action, while Lambert takes the stage Saturday evening under the stars at Thunder Ridge. Organizers say the event has evolved into a destination experience that combines elite bull riding, live entertainment, and the scenic beauty of the Ozarks.

The overlapping schedules create a unique opportunity for visitors and local residents to experience both events during the same holiday weekend. Air show performances are scheduled during the daytime, while PBR competition and concerts are primarily held in the evenings, making it possible for fans to attend both attractions.

Tourism officials expect significant visitor traffic throughout the region as thousands of aviation enthusiasts, rodeo fans, and country music lovers converge on the Branson area. The combination of the Thunderbirds soaring above Branson Airport and championship bull riders competing at Thunder Ridge is expected to make Labor Day weekend one of the busiest tourism periods of the year.

With military precision in the skies and eight-second rides in the arena, the Ozarks will offer visitors a weekend filled with adrenaline, entertainment, and family-friendly activities from sunrise to sunset.
