Two people have put themselves forward to seek the Republican Nomination for Arkansas House District 6 after the announcement that current representative Harlan Breaux would not seek reelection.
In a press release sent to Ozarks Dynacom, Cody Rogers of Omaha announced his candidacy for the seat. He describes himself as a conservative Republican who was born and raised around Bergman. Rogers is married with three sons and works in sales at a striping company and is co-owner of Olive View Events Center.
Rogers is joining a race that already includes current Carroll County Justice of the Peace Hunter Rivett. In a release posted on Facebook Monday, Rivett, who is also a history teacher at Berryville High School, also describes himself as a conservative Republican which he says he has proven during his time on the Carroll County Quorum Court.
District 6, which covers parts of Boone and Carroll Counites, is one of the seats up for election starting with the primary in March and general election in November.
