On the night of 09/19/2023, Taney County Deputies and Narcotics Detectives investigated a suspicious vehicle and made contact with the occupants.
During the the investigation, approximately 200 “M30” pills and methamphetamine were located. The M30 pills were consistent with counterfeit or “pressed” pills that contain Fentanyl. Two individuals were arrested and are awaiting formal charges.
Counterfeit pills that contain fentanyl can be deadly and are extremely dangerous because they often appear identical to legitimate prescription pills, and the user is likely unaware of how lethal they can be. A lethal dose of fentanyl is about two milligrams, equivalent in size to a few grains of salt and Fentanyl accounts for 80 percent of all overdose deaths involving an opioid.
