Two men from Texas are arrested after a traffic stop leads to the discovery of stolen items.
According to the release from the Arkansas State Police, officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Highway 65 near Tower Road just south of Omaha.
The ASP Troopers discovered around two dozen unopened garage door openers for which the two men in the vehicle could not show proof of purchase. The labels indicated they were from a Lowe's store in Bentonville. Upon further investigation, evidence led to the men being suspected of involvement in a barcode swapping scheme through several states. ASP Special Agents with the Criminal Investigation Division eventually collected evidence tying the men to stolen items valued at more than $160,000.
The two men, 52-year-old Terry White and 34-year-old Robert Diaz both of Texas, were charged with Felony Theft by Receiving. White also has active warrants on him from Alabama, Florida, and Kentucky.
According to online records, both men are being held at the Boone County Detention.
