A third person is now facing charges in an incident that resulted in the death of a man from Aurora.
According to court documents filed by the Barry County Sheriff's Office, Nathan Bates is charged with tampering with evidence in a felony prosecution and abandonment of a corpse.
Bates is charged with having assisted with disposing of the body of the victim after he was killed in March. Though not stated specifically in the documents, his actions were a part of the incident which led to the death of Marvin Lance McCullough. Brandy Coburn of Verona and Jimmy Taylor, 46 are currently in the Barry County Jail charged with McCullough’s death. Coburn is accused of shooting McCullough in the head then with the help of Taylor, disposing of the body and setting the victim’s truck on fire.
