A local group will be taking part in the opening ceremony of this week's Kansas City Chiefs Home Football Game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Haygoods will sing the national anthem prior to the 3:25 kick-off for this Sunday's game.
According to a recent story in the Branson Globe and also a live video on the City of Branson Facebook Page, the arrangements were made when the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders made a scheduled appearance in Branson as part of the agreement with the team as the "Official Vacation Destination of the Kansas City Chiefs." Besides taking part in the Community Pep Rally at the Branson Landing, the cheerleaders visited other areas of Branson including attending the Haygoods' show at the Clay Cooper Theater. Members of the Chiefs group then talked with the Haygoods which led to them being tabbed to sing the anthem at this week's game.
A video including the Haygoods performing the National Anthem at Thursday's announcement can be found on the City of Branson Facebook Page.
Coverage of Kansas City Chiefs Football can be heard on Legends 1063.
