TCHD Conducts Stream Sampling

The Taney County Health Department is conducting a program testing water in popular swimming spots.

The Taney County Health Department announces that the annual program, which began in June, samples water weekly from eight swimming sites within the county to check for any potential rises in the e coli level in the streams.

“Visitors and residents enjoy the county’s many natural “swimming holes.” states Ashton King, Environmental Public Health Specialist in a TCHD release. “We want to be sure that our waters are safe, and no one gets sick.”

The eight sites that are tested in the county are:

Casey Hole, Forsyth
Swan Creek, Taneyville
Beaver Creek Public Use Area, Kissee Mills
Stockstill Park, Branson
Hulland Park, Hollister
Blansit, Walnut Shade
Hulls Ford, Taneyville
State Park, Branson

The release goes on to say that testing takes place every Monday except on days it is raining, when the tests are postponed until Tuesday.

Results from the weekly testing are posted on the https://www.taneycohealth.org/
