A Lakes Region man is facing a felony charge of First-Degree Statutory Rape after he admitted to transporting an underage female across the state line and having inappropriate relations with her.
According to court documents, Jason Caton of Rockaway Beach was arrested Wednesday afternoon and will be held without bond.
The probable cause statement filed by the Taney County Sheriff's Office indicates that an officer was contacted and asked to start an investigation into alleged sexual abuse that took place. An officer made contact with Caton who after being given his Miranda Rights, said during an interview with the investigator that he had crossed state lines to pick up the underage victim and bring her back to his residents where they had multiple sexual encounters.
The victim, during an interview with a certified trained forensic interviewer, said that she was pressured into the encounters during her time at Caton's residence in Rockaway Beach.
A court date has yet to be set for Caton.
