The first full week of summer will see the hottest temperatures in the Lakes Region so far this year.
The National Weather Service says after temperatures in the low to mid 90’s today and Tuesday, the forecast calls for highs in the 100’s for parts of the region Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances will be in the forecast beginning late Friday into the weekend.
While much of the Lakes Area was dry over this past weekend, parts of north central Arkansas saw severe thunderstorms Sunday afternoon with hail over four inches in diameter reported near Thola in Searcy County.
Other areas of large hail were reported around Marshall and to the east in Searcy County, around Salus in Newton County, and near Dutton in Madison County.
