A frontal system packing powerful wind and brief heavy rain made its way through the Lakes Region early this morning.
While many of the storms had weakened by the time they arrived in the area, there were still 50 plus MPH wind gusts reported, including a 58 MPH gust from a weather observer in Walnut Shade. A tree fell onto a power line in the Merriam Woods area which was a contributing factor to over 5000 White River Valley Customers losing power for a while. Some customers still were without power as of sunrise this morning.
Warm temperatures will be around for the next couple of days before the next chance of rain will bring back colder air on Thursday.
