The Stone County Sheriff’s Office uses a new piece of equipment in a search which leads to an arrest.
According to a post on the department's Facebook page, their newly acquired river patrol boat was used as part of a search for two people that had been reported as missing on the James River for three days.
After a drone located their kayaks used by the missing people, Stone County Deputies joined members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Division to search the area and eventually locate the parties in a cave high on a bluff. One of the people missing was found to be wanted on probation violation warrants with nation-wide extradition and is being held without bond in the Stone County Jail.
The person arrested was not identified in the report.
