The Stone County Sheriff’s Office reports the discovery of a dead body and a suspect in custody in the case.
According to a post on the Sheriff Department Facebook page, deputies were called to an address on Elm Springs Road in northern Stone County just after 7:00 Tuesday morning in reference to a suspicious situation.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased 50-year-old male with a gunshot wound. Detectives were called to the scene after which a search was started for a suspect, with the help of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Sheriff’s Officers in Cedar, Christian, and Vernon Counties along with Stone County 911 Dispatch, a suspect was taken into custody in Vernon County.
Though not listed in the release, Stone County Jail records indicate 62-year-old Chris Tina Alton Miller is in custody facing 1st Degree Murder Charges and is being held without bail as the investigation continues.
