Columbia Police have arrested a Lakes Area man in connection with a homicide investigation that began Tuesday afternoon after officers responded to a reported cardiac arrest.
According to a release from Columbia Police, at approximately 3:20 pm on August 12, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Range Line Street. Upon arriving at the scene, investigators determined the death appeared suspicious. Further investigation later confirmed that the incident was a homicide.
The victim was identified as 37-year-old Destiny Dunn of Kansas City. Authorities said her next of kin has been notified.
Police arrested 35-year-old Nicholas Ayres of Crane on charges of First-Degree Domestic Assault and Second-Degree Murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
