The Arkansas State-Wide Primary was one of five contests held across the country on Tuesday.
The most notable races included the Republican Nomination for Governor as Sarah Sanders easily won the nomination and will face off against Democrat Chris Jones in November. Lt. Governor Tim Griffin and Attorney General Leslie Rutledge won the Republican nominations to run for the other’s job as Rutledge looks to become Lt. Governor and Griffin Attorney General. Both initially were running for governor but switched to different races.
Incumbent U.S. Senator John Boozman fended off three challenges to retain the Republican nomination for his seat and locally, both Rick Crawford and Steve Womack won the Republican nod for the area U.S. House Seats.
