Spillway Gates Opened at Table Rock Dam

Heavy rains that pelted the Lakes Region over the weekend caused water levels to rise which leads to a response from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

According to a release from the Little Rock District Office, six spillway gates were opened this morning. This release, according to the Corps, will help evacuate the flood storage from the rounds of precipitation that have impacted the Lakes Region.

Approximately 5,700 cubic feet per second will be released through the spillway gates which combined with hydropower will make the total release around 15,200 c.f.s.

Officials add that the lake has risen several feet during the recent rainfall and these steps are part of their regular procedure to evacuate the water from the Table Rock Flood Pool.
