The Taney County Sheriff's Office releases information on a manhunt that resulted in an arrest over the weekend.

The Taney County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of several agencies arrested Cole Hanes, who was wanted in connection with a stolen vehicle and allegedly threatening to shoot law enforcement officers. Hanes also had active warrants out of Webster County for Probation Violation and Burglary.
On Saturday, the Sheriff's office received reports that Hanes was in the Mark Twain National Forest in the Glade Top area. Deputies and assisting agencies responded and established a perimeter, initiating an extensive search of the area which lasted late into the night and into Sunday morning. Following coordinated efforts, Hanes was taken into custody this morning without incident. He is currently in the Taney County Jail.
The Taney County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the assisting agencies: Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service, Homeland Security, Nixa Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri Probation and Parole and the Taney County Ambulance District for their assistance in this successful operation.
