The Stone County Health Department is seeing steady usage of their facility near Reeds Spring 16 months after opening.
Health Department Director Pam Burnett, during a recent interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, said the building at the intersection of Highways 13/76 and Wilderness Road has been able to provide the services needed to the county's residents and organizations as well as provide space for other non-profit groups to meet. Burnett and Community Health Specialist Monica Mueller added that the building and its space is utilized by several members of the Stone County Community Health Coalition that teams with the department to work on health priorities in the county.
While the new building handles most of the programs, the SCHD still maintains an office on the square in Galena that is open Monday through Wednesday.
