Three vehicles are involved in a traffic crash on Highway 13 near Armadillo Lane Saturday morning.
According to the report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a car driven by 74-year-old Stephen Richards of Kimberling City traveling southbound swerved into the other southbound striking a vehicle, then crossing the median and hitting a vehicle in the northbound lane. Richards sustained serious injuries while the driver of the northbound vehicle, 70-year-old John Wiatt of Lampe, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the other southbound vehicle, 47-year-old Raymond Griffith of Lampe, sustained minor injuries.
This is the 100th fatality in traffic crashes worked by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2023.
