Heavy Rain pelting the Lakes Region on Friday and early Saturday Morning causes many issues in the Lakes Region.
Many traffic accidents were worked in the Branson Area according to Fire Chief Ted Martin. Several of those accidents occurred Friday afternoon causing traffic back-ups for several hours.
Rain amounts reported to the National Weather Service Office in Springfield ranged from around 5 inches in Shell Knob in Barry County as well as near Brownbranch in Taney County to over four inches in areas around Branson and Kirbyville. Taney County Highway J south of Kirbyville remained closed Saturday morning due to flooding as were several state highways in both Douglas and Ozark Counties. Several Branson city streets as well as area county roads in the region also had water over the roadways.
Flood Warnings remain in effect into Saturday evening as water slowly recedes. No more rain is in the forecast for the weekend but cold temperatures will take over the region with highs in the 40s and the lows in the 20s.
