The person who hit the building of Forsyth Fire Station #2 with a vehicle has now been identified.
A Taney County woman, Kristina Linhart of Kirbyville, has been charged with a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage exceeding $1,000 in connection with a crash at the City of Forsyth Fire Department on July 29.
According to court documents, Linhart was allegedly driving a blue 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix when she left the roadway and entered the fire station driveway.
The vehicle reportedly struck the fire station, causing damage to both the building and the car. Authorities say she left the scene without notifying law enforcement. Damage to the fire station is estimated at more than $20,000.
During an interview with police on Aug. 4, Linhart allegedly admitted to crashing into the building. Investigators also allege she hid the damaged vehicle under a tarp behind a residence near Wildwood Drive.
Authorities stated that she wrote an apology letter regarding the incident.
A criminal summons has been issued, and Linhart is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 21.
