The ongoing project to expand Interstate 44 to six lanes in Springfield will impact Highway 65 traffic in March.
According to a release from the Missouri Department of Transportation, access to westbound I-44 from 65 will be closed beginning March 2 and will run for about two weeks through March 13. Access to eastbound I-44 will not be impacted by the closure.
MODOT says no signed detours are planned during the closure. Motorist are encouraged to plan in advance to use alternative routes during the closure. The release from MODOT says using eastbound I-44 to Highway 744 then heading back westbound is one alternative.
