A three-vehicle crash east of Blue Eye on Highway 86 Tuesday sends one person to the hospital with serious injuries and closes the highway for close to two hours.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Accident report, the crash took place around 11:40 Tuesday morning when a pickup truck driven by 55-year-old Bradley Butler of Blue Eye crossed the centerline striking a car driven by 41-year-old Richard Powell of Berryville then hitting a third vehicle driven by 23-year-old Ciera Brand of Berryville head-on.
According to a follow-up report from the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District, Brand had to be extricated from her vehicle by First Responders and then was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment. Highway 86 reopened to traffic after 1:00 according to the fire district’s report.
