One Person Dies, Other Serious Injuries in Traffic Crashes

Three accidents worked by Troop D of the Missouri Highway Patrol resulted in one fatality and several serious injuries.

The fatality crash occurred around 9:00 Saturday night in Stone County, when a motorcycle ran off the road striking a tree and a ditch before overturning. The driver of the motorcycle, 30-year-old Gustavo Fuentes of Reeds Spring, was taken to Cox Medical Center Branson where he was later pronounced dead.

A three vehicle crash on Highway F in Bull Creek resulted in two serious injuries while blocking traffic for nearly an hour and a half Saturday afternoon. The MSHP Crash report indicates a vehicle driven eastbound by 42-year-old Matthew Rash of Ozark crossed the centerline and hit two vehicles before coming to a stop. Rash and one of the other drivers, 39-year-old Brett Hebblethwaite of Merriam Woods were seriously injured while the third driver, 38-year-old Rena Ellis of Branson, sustained moderate injuries with all three being transported by Taney County Ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

A late Friday night accident also resulted in serious injuries to 28-year-old Bryce Fausett of Ridgedale, when a vehicle he was driving on Highway 176 near Merriam Woods ran over the road striking a tree and overturning. Fausett was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment of injuries.
