A plane has gone done near the Stone and Barry County Line around Cape Fair.
Public Information Officer for Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Mike McClure tells Ozarks First that troopers responded to a report of an airplane going down. Deputies arriving at the scene discovered the plane in an isolated field near Highway 76
Sgt. McClure said two people were on board, one died, and another was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries. The make and model of the plane as well as the names of the victims have yet to be released.
Sgt. McClure added that MSHP will do an incident report with the investigation then following from the Federal Aviation Administration.
