A pair of crashes Tuesday worked by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol result in one fatality and several injuries.
The fatality crash took place during the Noon Hour on Highway 14 west of Nixa when a car driven by a 20-year-old Republic man hydroplaned on the wet pavement colliding with a SUV coming the other way. A passenger in the car, and 18-year-old Springfield woman, died in the crash while the driver and the people in the other vehicle, a man and a woman from Crane, received minor to moderate injuries.
The other crash took place Tuesday night north of Blue Eye when a SUV driven by a 40-year-old Lampe man crossed the centerline and struck a car driven by a 43-year-old woman from Ridgedale. Both drivers were taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield in serious condition.
