An area rural Fire Department works a pair of major fires over the last two weeks.
According to posts on the Oak Grove Fire and Rescue Facebook page, fire personnel were dispatched to Carroll County Road 614 late Saturday morning for a structure fire. Arriving units found a barn fully involved. Two engines and a tanker responded as did units from the Green Forest Fire Department.
Earlier in January, Oak Grove Units responded to a fire on Carroll County Road 608 to investigate a report of smoke showing. The smoke turned out to be a fully involved detached garage with the fire at risk of spreading to the house. With the assistance of units from Berryville, Green Forest, as well as Southern Stone County Fire, the blaze was limited to the garage and one room of the house.
