Last weekend's storm activity results in several confirmed tornadoes in the region.
A report by the National Weather Service Office in Springfield indicates five tornadoes during storms that passed through areas between Branson and Springfield on June 7 including EF-0 Tornadoes in the Highlandville-Spokane Area as well near Battlefield south of Springfield. Both tornadoes were on the ground less than half a mile and peak winds were around 70 MPH.
Three EF-1 Tornadoes struck areas around Sparta which stayed on the ground for over two miles with 94 MPH top winds while two others struck further east in Douglas County with top wind speeds of 100 MPH.
Several trees were damaged in these storms with some building damage also taking place in the EF-1 Tornadoes.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, a brief tornado was confirmed by a trained spotter in northern Arkansas around the town of Nail in Newton County.
No injuries were reported with these storms.
