Nixa Police Officer Frank Donohue received the Award of Merit, according to a post on the Nixa Police Facebook Page.
The post states that Donohue was "presented with an award of merit for his continuing efforts in community-oriented policing and customer service."
It describes him as a "well-known member of the department." It attributes this to the "many non-enforcement interactions he has with the citizens of the community."
"He is always willing to have a conversation with people and just chat. Additionally, he often goes out of the way on calls to ensure people feel heard and know that he genuinely cares about their situations. As an example, in May of last year, Officer Donohue handled a call where an elderly person had been taken advantage of by a landscaper."
