The Nixa Police Department posted on their Facebook Page about the need for more officers and more space; the full post can be read below.
Public safety is the most expensive governmental service the city provides. The city spent $3.7 million in 2021 in the Police Department, mostly on officer pay. Compare that figure to the amount of general sales tax revenue we collected in 2021, which was $3.4 million. We need more officers, and we need more space, but finding the funds to fix these issues is the challenge that prevents us from being able to keep up with our community growth.
