New Jobs are coming to the Harrison area pending the finalization of a contract.
Harrison Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Jeff Nielson and City of Harrison Communications Director Donna Braymer joined KHOZ's "Around the Table" program recently to talk about the proposal.
Provalus is a company located currently in 10 primarily rural communities that offers training to local individuals in technology fields including software development, quality assurance, data security experts, and system engineers. Nielson explained that the company could create up to 150 jobs itself but also helps individuals starting their own career path.
Nielson and Braymer said the city is currently finalizing a contract with Provalus. After the contract has been signed, the company will begin developing their business location at a yet to be named location in downtown Harrison.
At a Special Harrison City Council meeting Monday night, approval was given to Mayor Jerry Jackson to proceed with the contracts.
