An area organization working with disabled residents has begun construction of a new building.
According to a post on Facebook, the Stone County Developmental Disability Board held a groundbreaking in May for the new facility which will be located on Emerson Road in Reeds Spring. The Board, first formed after passage of a countywide tax in 2016, helps provide direct services as well as assisting other nonprofit organizations in providing services to Stone County residents with developmental disabilities.
SCDDB Executive Director LaDella Thomas during past interviews on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program as well as during a recent recap of the groundbreaking with the Branson Tri-Lakes News, that the ultimate goal was to be able to build a facility that can accommodate the growing programs and needed staff space.
