MODOT Project Update: Work Continues on new Highway 86 Bridge

One of the major bridge projects in moving along according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Resident Engineer Johnny Teegardin, during an interview last week on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, says the $60 million project to build the new Highway 86 Bridge over Table Rock Rock at Long Creek is for the most part is on-schedule though the recent winter weather has slowed things up.

Teegardin says the work primarily is focused on the approaches to the new bridge with the barges that will be used for the water portion of the project to be put in place soon.

Teegardin says that signage and buoys will be placed in the water to help guide boaters around the construction when that portion of the project begins.

Teegardin also discussed working with Johnny Morris and Bass Pro Shops on improvements on 86 east of the bridge to help facilitate traffic around the new Thunder Ridge Nature Arena as well as the Highway 14 Project in Nixa.

Future projects discussed included the upcoming expansion of Highway 65 from Fremont Hills through Ozark and Highway 160/13 intersection improvements in the Nixa area.
