The Missouri Department of Transportation will host a public meeting on an upcoming project to repair a section of Highway 76 overlooking Lake Taneycomo.
According to a release from MODOT, the meeting on the project to repair the section of 76 between the Business 65 Roundabout and Lakeshore Drive is on August 12 at First Presbyterian Church in Branson between 4:30 and 6:00pm. The meeting will be a come-and-go event that will feature information on the upcoming project with MODOT Officials on site to answer questions.
The MODOT release states the project is scheduled for the spring of 2026 with the purpose of stabilizing the embankment over Lake Taneycomo plus completely reconstruct that section of the highway.
The release says the project will last about four months and force thru traffic between Hollister and Mount Branson to use Highway BB and Coon Creek Road to get to their destination.
