JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The state of Missouri will start accepting electronically filed 2023 tax returns next week.
According to a release from the Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR), returns can be submitted starting Jan. 29, the same day that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will start accepting federal tax returns.
The DOR encourages taxpayers to file electronically and use direct deposit when filing a return. According to the department, those who e-file generally get their refund faster than those who file a paper return.
