NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Filling up in Missouri for your Fourth of July plans? You may want to save those receipts, as the window just opened up to apply for a refund on the tax you pay for gas.
In 2021, Missouri launched an escalating fuel tax designed to generate up to $1.8 billion to use for road repairs. It started at 17 cents per gallon and reached its max on July 1 of 29.5 cents per gallon.
