MISSOURI – A state lawmaker wants electric companies to reimburse their Missouri customers after experiencing a power outage.
Democratic Senator Tracy McCreery of the 24th District in St. Louis County sponsored the bill, SB 286, that would require electrical companies to reimburse their customers if a power outage occurs for longer than 48 hours.
According to the bill, electric companies will be required to create a form online for customer’s to report power outages. If the loss is greater than $200, a customer will need to submit receipts before receiving a reimbursement.
