A flue fire Sunday evening causes significant damage to an area home.
According to a post on the Western Taney County Fire Protection District's Facebook Page, firefighters were dispatch to the blaze on White Oak Road in Merriam Woods around 8:00 pm. The fire had burned through the roof by the time they arrived though they were able to quickly extinguish the blaze despite water having to be hauled in due to no nearby fire hydrants.
The post goes on to state that although there was significant damage to the home, no injuries were reported. Taney County Ambulance also assisted on the scene as did the American Red Cross helping the renters with support.
