As the summer months commence and the Independence Day Holiday approaches, the Missouri Department of Conservation reminds folks heading to the outdoors to be safe.
Christian County Agent Makayla Leppert and Stone County Agent Taressa Wise, during a recent Conservation Report on the At Your Service" Podcast, said that Lake Levels remain high due to the Spring Rains and boaters for both fishing and recreation activities need to be alert for underwater debris. The agents also reminded boaters to have Life Jackets on board for safety and for children seven and under, make sure they are wearing them per Missouri State Law.
