The Missouri Department of Conservation continues to be proactive in helping to contain Chronic Wasting Disease in Deer.
Quenten Fronterhouse, one of MDC's Taney County Agents, says on the latest edition of the MDC Podcast that agents with land owners permission have gone into some areas of Taney County and harvested deer to check for a potential CDW Spread. Fronterhouse also says that land owners had the option with MDC permission to shoot the deer on their own properties. Fronterhouse wanted to clarify the program due to some feedback from residents that thought the agents were trying just to remove the deer from a particular area.
Fronterhouse also talks about the 1600 pounds of Deer Meat collected this year for the "Share the Harvest" program as well the current fishing conditions in the region.
