North Arkansas College's goal is to expand opportunities for students and faculty in seeking to join the University of Arkansas System.
North Arkansas President Dr. Rick Massengale, during an interview on "Livin Life with Lisa" on New Country 1029, said joining the U of A System would give North Ark Students access to the UA-Fayetteville transfer scholarship program which would enable North Ark Students to continue to pay North Ark Tuition Rates when moving over to continue their education in Fayetteville. Massengale added that similar benefits would be available for students moving on to other schools in the U of A System.
Massengale also said North Ark faculty and staff could benefit, pursing programs within their field at reduced cost.
Massengale said joining the U of A System could have an effect on the community as more programs through U of A could allow students to stay in the Harrison area to complete degrees helping build a workforce of home grown talent.
Massengale said there would be some alterations to the leadership structure at the school but overall, not much change in operations would occurred including the name, which would still be North Arkansas College.
