The Taney County Sheriff's Office assists a neighboring agency to take a wanted man into custody.
According to a posts from the Howell and Taney County Sheriff's office, Clayton Schafer from West Plains was wanted on felony charges of Kidnapping and Domestic Assault. The Howell County Sheriff's Office started a Facebook feature in January called "Wanted Wednesday" as part of their Operation Relentless Pursuit Task Force program and highlighted Schafer in their first post.
This past Sunday, Howell County deputies received a tip about his current location after which they contacted the Taney County Sheriff's Office whose deputies located Schafer and took him into custody without incident.
Schafer is currently in the Taney County Jail in Forsyth awaiting extradition back to Howell County.
