A man is facing charges from an incident earlier this month.
According to court documents, Chris Alan Balcomb of Kimberling city is facing three felony charges after he is accused of entering a residence and striking someone with a baseball bat.
The probable cause statement filed by the Kimberling City Police Department indicates that Balcomb had entered the residence, grabbed the bat, and struck the victim in the head. According to a later interview, Balcomb claims he was trying to break up a fight when the incident occurred.
Both Balcomb and the victim suffered lacerations from the incident and had to be treated at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
Balcomb is currently being held in the Stone County Jail on a $100,000 bond with a next court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.
